Fellow Episcopalians,

St. Brigid's Episcopal Church in Rio Vista is taking part in the Step Out: Walk to Stop
Diabetes. The Stepout walk is the American Diabetes Associations signature fundraising walk
to raise money to help change the future of diabetes.

This will be our 3rd time participating in the regional walk in Sacramento .  In 2 years we have
raised almost $5000.  It is amazing what can be accomplished by just a few people.

We challenge you to join us in our effort to raise funds to help the American Diabetes
Association provide community-based education programs, protect the rights of people with
diabetes and fund critical research for a cure.

We understand that on a Sunday morning your focus is on attending your parish church,
however here are ways you can help:

1.  Form a team and join us in Sacramento on September 25th.   Visit the Web site at
www.diabetes.org/stepout for more information or to form a team.

2.  Join our team and walk with us.  Visit the St. Brigid's - Rio Vista Web site at
http://main.diabetes.org/goto/stbrigids to find out more about our team or to join our group.

3. Make a donation to one of our team members on-line by visiting our team web site
athttp://main.diabetes.org/goto/stbrigids or send your donation to St. Brigid's Episcopal
Church, P.O. Box 580 , Rio Vista, CA 94571.   Please make checks payable to the American
Diabetes Association.

If you would like more information, please contact our team captain at
thelmamartin@comcast.net.

Thank you in advance for any help and support you can provide.

Diabetes is a disease that has deadly consequences, and there is no cure.

1 in 3 children born in the year 2000 will develop diabetes in their lifetime.  The ratio is even
greater for minority children with 1 in 2 developing diabetes in their lifetime.

Together we can stop diabetes, one step at a time.

Sincerely,
Thelma Martin, team captain
