St. Brigid’s Episcopal Church, Rio Vista Annual Meeting Saturday January 10, 2009 Deacon’s Annual Report Here is a quick trip through my appointment book from January 2008 to today. In The Parish Shared with Deacon Derek in assisting at St Brigid’s Eucharists; Led most Evening Prayer services; Scheduled priests to preside and preach as needed; Preached once; Officiated at one funeral at Stewart’s Funeral Home; Took Communion to people in homes or hospital; Counseled briefly with some people in Rio Vista; Met with Rector, the Rev. Debra Warwick- Sabino;  Attended meetings with representative of Resurrection Life Church 11/19 and 11/28; Communicated with webkeeper; Handled email list and advertising; Prepared reports for meetings; Co-led annual meeting 1/19; Attended mission committee meetings 1/12 and 11/2; and last but not least, Coordinated a large group to attend Pub Night at St. Anne’s Stockton 2/2.   In The Diocese Attended clergy conference 2/12; Hosted clericus gathering at Lighthouse with lunch at The Point 6/3; Continued to serve on the School for Deacons Board of Trustees as bishop’s appointee, including representing the School at the San Joaquin diocesan convention 10/24- 25; Attended vestry and treasurer conference 2/23; Attended diocesan convention in Redding with Carol Dugger 11/14-16; Preached and assisted twice at St. Andrew’s Antelope 2/17 and 10/26; During Deacon Tina’s sabbatical, served as deacon at Trinity Cathedral at 20 services on 6 Sundays 7/20, 10/19, 12/7,14,21,28 and two services on Christmas Eve. In The Wide World Worked my full time job with Solano County Library--awesome ministry opportunities arise each day. www.solanolibrary.com. Served as chaplain and advisory council member for Kairos Outside Northern California; Attended KO leadership training in Pomona 3/28-29; Assisted with Kairos support team for Folsom prison; Presented workshop on clergy role in Kairos at international conference in Oakland 8/8-9; Served on KO clergy team for retreat in San Francisco 10/3-5. www.kairosprisonministry.org. Actively participated in the Rio Vista pastors’ fellowship and its Bass Festival booth 8/11. www.riovistaforchrist.org. Let us pray for our bishop Barry Beisner and his family, for Marc and Jerry, the bishops of our neighboring dioceses, for the priests who serve St. Brigid’s, especially the Rev.
