Baptism is a sacrament of water and the Holy Spirit.  The Christian
tradition traces this sacrament back to Jesus himself being baptized
in the river Jordan.  In baptism, we thank God for the gift of life and
publicly acknowledge God's love.

St Brigid's welcomes all people who wish to be baptized.  The
sacrament of baptism is the beginning of a new Christ-centered life,
which is deepened and strengthened by our membership in the
Church.

In the Episcopal Church it is common to baptize young children.
Parents often want their children to be baptized so that as they grow
up they can learn about God and the Church.  We hope that
everyone who is baptized, younger or older, will become part of the
worshipping body of Christ.

Baptism usually requires advance preparation on the part of the
clergy, parents and sponsors (godparents).  If you wish to be
baptized or to have your child baptized, contact the church office.
